Brenda A Haney
Brenda has trained and competed to FEI level in dressage.
In Brazil she studied with three times Olympian and Team Coach Col Gerson Borges. Brenda took her first green horse and under Col Borges learned to train him and be trained herself to FEI level. Along the way, Brenda won many competitions at National and State level. She was the first woman to be invited to compete against the Brazilian Military Dressage riders, a competition that she won. After being developed to the higher levels, Brenda continued bringing along and competing additional horses to high dressage levels.
Upon relocation to the USA, Brenda studied with Olympic Team Member, Betsy Steiner and her coach, husband Uwe Steiner. She has also studied with Herr Hubert Rohrer and Karl Mikolka, Beireitter and Chief Rider respectively at the Spanish Riding School in Vienna. Among additional coaches must be listed Charles de Kunffy and Michael Barisone (USA Team Member). Her final coach before leaving America was George Williams, also trained at the Spanish Riding School in Vienna, who is currently President of the United States Dressage Federation and a successful International competitor in his own right.
Brenda and her students have competed with great success in America and she is looking forward to repeating this success here in the U.K.
Students and horses are accepted from the very beginning levels and for those who would like to, Brenda will work with them up to the maximum level horse and rider can achieve. Having worked from the ‘bottom up’, Brenda understands how daunting training can be and makes sure that both horse and rider enjoy their lessons.
